HUMBLE DAYS (2009 - 2012)
Living in close proximity either alienates people or it brings them closer together.
The living conditions, gender, age, distance, relations, everything are mixed and
loose, or they acquire a new meaning in the walls of the “Kommunalka”.
Designed in the Soviet Union for the purpose of forming a new collective vision of
the future, this apartment type became the sign of stagnation for a whole generation and were heavily impacted on the inner lifestyle of the residents.
In modern Russia the “Kommunalka” is a synonym for poverty and social vulnerability.
I also was interested to show the influence concerning the interaction
between apartments with the mental state of the soul of the residents and
show it under the aspect of "preservated" time and living conditions.
